By entering this facility, you agree to abide by the following Conditions of Entry; any patrons not observing these Conditions of Entry may be asked to leave.
Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre (“Centre”) is an inclusive, safe place for all our patrons. Any harassment or bullying will not be tolerated.
Centre management may refuse entry to, or evict any person from the Centre who in the opinion of Centre management is in breach of these terms and conditions or may compromise the health, safety, well-being or overall enjoyment of other patrons of the Centre or its facilities.
Should you be removed from the Centre, you may not be entitled to a refund of any monies paid for entry.
You must:
Obey all signs around the Centre. Some parts of our Centre have specific Conditions of Use that apply only to that area. When using these parts of our facility you are required to adhere to those Conditions of Use as part of your Conditions of Entry.
Follow instructions given to you by Centre staff.
Take care of yourself and your belongings. The Centre does not accept liability for any injury, damage or loss to persons or property.
Treat Centre staff and other patrons with respect and ensure your behaviour and actions do not breach any law, including the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas).
Parents/guardians are responsible for the safety and supervision of their dependents or clients while in and around the Centre.
Children 0-5 years of age and non-swimmers must be accompanied in the water, within arm's reach of a responsible and competent person over the age of 16 years. Maximum 2 children per responsible and competent person.
Children 6-10 years of age and weak swimmers must be accompanied in the Centre by a responsible person over the age of 16 years who must be close, be prepared and maintain constant visual contact. Maximum 4 children per responsible person.
Children 11-14 years of age must be accompanied in the Centre by a responsible person over the age of 16 years, who must maintain visual contact.
The Centre reserves the right to require in-water supervision for all patrons, regardless of age, depending on their ability to safely swim independently.
The following conditions apply throughout the Centre:
Smoking and vaping are prohibited in the Centre and are only permitted in the designated areas located outside of the Centre.
Alcohol is not permitted in the Centre.
Commercial activities, fundraising activities or any form of advertising or promotion are not permitted without the approval of Centre Management.
The Centre hosts regular events and is subject to regular ongoing maintenance and repair works. The Centre provides no guarantee regarding the availability of and access to programs, facilities, equipment, classes and particular pools.
Glassware or ceramics are not permitted in the Centre.
Animals are not permitted in the Centre, with the exception of assistance animals.
Use of aquatic equipment is at the discretion of Centre staff.
Bikes, skateboards, scooters and other similar mobility devices are not permitted in the Centre. Bike racks are provided near the Centre’s main entrance.
Children over the age of 7 must use the change rooms that best matches their gender.
Effective water nappies must be worn by non-toilet-trained children at all times. Toddlers, babies, and incontinent persons must always wear waterproof pants or nappies/swimwear.
Taking photos and/or filming in the Centre is not permitted unless you have obtained prior approval from Centre Management. Any consent to use a camera and/or video camera at this venue will be conditional upon you not taking, using, broadcasting or otherwise publishing images without the informed consent of all relevant individuals.
Use of mobile phones or other image capturing devices are not permitted in any change room.
Public safety cameras are in operation at Doone Kennedy Aquatic Centre. By using the Centre you consent to Hobart City Council using the footage to improve public safety and services, and to provide footage to Tasmania Police for investigation purposes.
